I'm Russell Webb and I am a custom rug maker by trade - 17 years now.
One of the first questions that always pops into peoples minds when they hear what I do for a living is:
What made you decide to get into rug making? I think it's in my blood... a close friend, who is German, thought my last name Webb comes from Webber and translates into Weaver in German. So I'm a weaver. Fortunately, times have changed in the industry, and I'm not weaving these rugs... It's a bit more complicated than that. Long story short, these rugs we're producing are in big demand and they get high marks for quality.
Last year we started to develop a training program for entrepreneurs that are interested in pursuing a career in this creative and fulfilling industry. I'm happy to say that this Business Opportunity has finally launched in 2008.
One of our niche web sites is tailored to business clients that are interested in producing their logo in a rug or mat. The rugs are used for lobbies, trade-shows and special events. We see active buyers coming from large and small corporations, schools and universities, the military and government, as well as churches and sports franchises.
I love to travel, teach, and learn; with current interests in wisdom teachings, based in all religions and cultures,
including the wise homeless man down the road! It's a wonderful, wacky world we live in and I look forward to sharing it with you...
