Vectormagic - Convert those jagged .jpgs into smooth .eps

Postby RussellWebb » Tue Dec 04, 2007 6:21 pm

Here's a great new online tool. Currently in beta test... looks promising.

If you ever need to convert a .jpg into .eps - this is the place to do it. This is mainly for adobe illustrator users. It's more precise than 'live trace'...

Basically you can take any jpg, upload it and convert into a vector based eps file. Then scale it up to any size without jags and fuzzies.

Hi RussellWebb

Check out this result and let me know what you think!

This tool will certainly come in handy for basic users requiring an .eps version of a logo.

If you would like me to remove this link please feel free to ask as I do like to respect peoples privacy.

HA! That's great... boy, I wish I had access to this tool a long time ago... It would have saved me so much time. Oh well... it's here now!

'Anonymous man' grabbed the sample image from our website. I hate to say it, but your new vector version looks better than my original!

The jagged lines

Postby Nana » Tue Dec 18, 2007 4:04 pm

Hi,

Now I know why my photoshop image has jagged lines! Thanks! The only problem is the website I am downloading the image to works best with jpegs....

Does anyone know how to fix my jagged line problem? I am still a bit new at photoshop. :(

Hi Nana.

You can edit png fies in photoshop! Vector magic can save your new and improved file as .png. You'll want to use your best quality logo image.

Then upload to vectormagic...

Then play around with it - try a couple versions using different settings.

Then save as .png... it will clean it up. Give it a whirl!

Wow, this comes in as a close second to one of the best resources listed on EC.com. The first for me was the free Camtasia Tool.
