Well, this thread was producing both positive and negative feedback regarding franchising and I guess I simply ran with the positive rather than the negative. I tend to do that, sorry!
Nonetheless, Russell is right, my post did not address the question at hand and I totally apologize for that.
If I had to choose a reason why I would NOT franchise, it would be because I'd be too concerned that if the franchise system failed, then so would I. It wouldn't matter how well I've managed the franchise business model nor how hard I worked, as it would all be for nothing if the franchise itself fails.
I wouldn't want to lose my business and investment that way! It's one thing if I started my own concept and it failed, because then I'd have no one but myself to blame and I prefer it that way. It's more acceptable...But if my business has to fail because of someone else...well that would be unacceptable.
