Good copywriting is what that makes an ad campaign about a certain product successful .It is the main reason nowadays behind the mediocre to extraordinary sales of any product. You can always learn the techniques from books or from a person working in the field. But believe me, it all depends on personal imagination and practice one has done to polish his/her skills.

Hi Darius,

Internet is the place for people like you and me who do not have much time to spare for learnings from institutes. I also had learnt much of my Copywriting skills from the Internet and as such I can recommend you the following to start with -

www.copyblogger.com/copywriting
http://www.copywriting.com/articles.html

I would agree with Jaime in
it all depends on personal imagination and practice one has done to polish his/her skills.
but would still say that penning down personal imagination into words is a quite difficult on many ocassions and reading is a must. It will not only sharpen your language skills but also help you in creating eye-catching stuff. This is one of the most essential use of Copy Writing - Attention Grabbing Headlines.

Good Luck,

There are tons of copy writing resources online - including a few simple inexpensive programs that allow you to create instant copy for headlines, subheads, openings, guarantees etc...

I second everything 'negotiations' recommends.

Good copy results from having a solid understanding of the target audience. The more you can direct the text to show reader's how the product or service provides a solution to their problems the better your copy will be.

Two of the pros in the business who offer great resources and free ezines are Bob Bly- http://www.bly.com/newsite/Pages/index.php. His website has a whole slew of resources for copywriting if you look along the lefthand side of the page.

Steve Slaunwhite has a site solely for copywriters and offers some great, cheap teleseminars-http://forcopywritersonly.com/

Reading as much good copy as you can, especially the ads from the big boys are a good way to learn as well. They don't pay thousands of dollars for nothing. I also recommend that you start writing. The only way to hone a skill is to practice.
