A prospect is a prospect. You treat everybody with respect. If they are an existing client, you have an advantage because you have already started to build a relationship and you already know a little bit about them.

Just know that they are a person. Some like to be treated like some big shot and thats fine. You need to be able to see that. But, for the most part they are just a regular person.

Check out - http://www.personalityselling.com/bolt_system.php Charles Clark is good. And relating people to animals is easier to remember than an acronym.

Most rich people that made their own money are a Bull personality. Usually they are mostly Bull and partly one of the other personalities. Bulls are just like they sound. They will take control of the situation even if they don't know what they are doing. Make sure they know you are the one in control and that you know what you are doing or they will be glad to let you know you are not doing your job. see Ari in the show entourage.

I agree. If for anything to, they have been in the business for sometime already and quite handled a lot of transactions themselves. They have seen a lot of people trying to impress them and I am sure that could get boring. When you present something to them, just remember to be charming without coming off as a kiss-ass -- I'm sure they could tell. And always, always treat them with respect regardless of their reputation.

Best,
Emma

One should never differentiate between wealthy & other clients, all should be treated in such a way that they love to visit you next time. Respect should be given to everyone.

Hi,

Be polite, courteous and professional no matter who the client is. Listen to your client to get a feel for them and generally the rest will flow. :D

Right Up my ally as a former mortgage banker/broker for about 25 years. Surprising how many could afford the cash, but preferred to leverage their real estate purchase, other has the cash, but didn't want to expose their cash purchase to the tax people, others wash it a little at a time - some here and some there

One of my favorite saying "Rich People can afford poor taste" (mostly called neuvo(s) rich)

My success in dealing with them

1. Be prepared and confident in your Product
2. Lose you intimation (if you have it), a firm handshake and look them in the eye
3. Think Big as the man said

Built a impossible $137 startup into a multimillion dollar business from wealthy clients, Names you would recognize internationally, if I were to share them

Thanks for your input, we have another post from Evan about trying to IMPRESS others, A good read
