Typical methods of promotion include adding quality content to your website of specific interest to your targeted audience; using targeted keywords in your site content; and promoting your website with off-site methods like article marketing and social networking.

Are you presently applying any of those marketing methods?

Before promoting more online, I would first
determine the conversion rate for your calls.

For example, how many sales can you make
out of 10 customers who come to see you?

If you know 4 out of 10 will sign up and bring
in $400 in business, you know you can give away
up to $40 of your time to break even.

The problem is, that's just to break even.

So now you will have to have the backend.

1) Out of 4 people sign up for your service,
how many will sign up for Month 2+?

2) On average, how many month do people
stick? or how often do they drop out?

3) Or how many will sign up for bigger, more
intensive packages? (only show these to people
who bought at least your entry level sales, make
this 3 times the size of your entry level
package)

If you don't have any of these above, you're
going to promote and will have little to
show for.

Once you figure this out, then you will have
lifetime customer value, meaning, on average
how much your customer will be worth to you.

If you know you can bring in $50 for every customer
who steps in your tutoring business, you'll just now
need to promote enough to reach your sales goals.

As I said, to achieve, this, you will probably need to
employ effective backend funnels in place.

Once you have this figured out, you can spend
money promoting your site with paid traffic, such
as Facebook ads etc -- at this point, you will
still be in profit because you know your bottom
line.

Search engine optimization is a option; you can promote your business by using on page and Off page optimization because, There is at most and at the best thing is getting organic traffic from the search engine because a high rate of users comes from search Engines.
It's very impotent to know about your competitors, and what kind of plane is best for your website promotion because if you use Black hat SEO, you will be banned from the search engines. So for your business promotion everything should be planned first, and if you get in doing that can take help from SEO Specialist who knows what is good and bad in your promotion.

Ark,

There are several ways to promote business online but what matters is how effectively you place your business before the market. One has to plan the steps carefully and must take a test effect in order to get the best results. A promotion of a product/service or anything else affects your market only when it could effect you and so the seller is the first customer itself.

For promoting online you can write articles related to the service/product that you are providing but then you need to write about the benefits of the product not your site. You need to first make your target market understand the effectiveness of the product/service. Try to be informative and professional with all your approach, and when you direct the user through a link/hyperlink in your article/blog content make sure that they are being directed to the desired page.

Promote your content through social medias, social bookmarking sites and your email. Social media is only single market place i feel where you could get your target at one place. Try to build your leads and client network through social networks, interact with them effectively, don't present yourself as a seller you must promote your business but present yourself as a adviser. Try to attract them by posting offers and discounts and always be prepared to explain them regarding that.

Note one thing that it is you both the side and so it is not difficult to impress yourself but then you need to develop strategies.

Remember one thing, If there not a Need then Generate the Need!

I would recommend setting up a blog for your business. And find bloggers network (Entrecard.com, Blogcatalog.com, NetworkedBlog) to familiarize with other bloggers, which may give your business website a boost through linkbacks and reviews, thereby attracts higher authority, increased traffic and conversion rate.

Good morning all,

I would like to inquire about how to promote my business online. I started ConsumerBranch LLC as an online centralized location for businesses to purchase products from an array of suppliers. I would like to first understand where should I start to promote my business, and what method should I take to pursue this route. Please visit ConsumerBranch for more details.

I look forward to the advice.

Thank y'all for the help,

I see some good responses, but I don't see enough information from you

Are you drop shipping? Local or Global, what kind of supplies, big or small ticket items, why should we buy from you, etc.

New company, what is your budget?, if any

I am currently working on the code to finish it. You should see results in a few days. As far as information is concerned its as simple as it says. ConsumerBranch is a centralized location for businesses to purchase supplies through rather than the other methods of searching, ie search engines, supplier books, phone, ect. Its something like drop shipping but I handle zero product. My goal is to gather mass amounts of products from suppliers and bring them to ConsumerBranch. There is no particular field that this site specializes in. The site will have all industries listed throughout the world and profiles will be classified based on what sector of the economy they're in. When a say profile I am referring to buyers and sellers on the company level. Ticket items - its all based on what the purchaser orders. A purchaser orders 50 units of paper through my site and the invoice is pushed to the respective supplier via email.

Why should you buy from me? Well, that answer can be inferred by how easily a buyer can find/buyer products. The goal is to help in the process of purchasing products for companies from the vast amount of suppliers I will bring to the table.

Please keep the questions coming. I could use the advice and would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you Jason for your remarks and Justin for your input

Sorry I am still trying to get a handle on your business model and objectives. Do you have a business plan? If you have a business plan, then it should already include your financial and marketing plan aspects.

I didn't see a response regarding your advertising budget.

In trying to visualize your site, and hopefully help you think through the process you can be an aggregator, but I would rather order directly with the vendor through your gateway, rather having emails floating around.

For that matter friend, much of your success is also dependent on your selection of a business name. As a business owner, I would overlook ConsumerBranch and look for CommercialBranch or a name the more closely reflects on "Supply Broker"

Paper goods are pretty low margin, correct me if I wrong, and I would probably rely on local suppliers for that type of purchase

For that matter, the purchase order should be sent to the supplier and the invoice to the buyer alone with the order

If I understand, ConsumerBranch is a giant middleman/marketplace for buyers+sellers, yes?

Yes sir. You have won the prize. That is the purpose. It's free and doesn't cost a subscription to use. Both buyers and sellers need to be officially companies before they can register a profile. Here in a day or so I'm going to upload my final changes. I just wanted to throw it out there and get some advice.

The more the merrier.
