Women and Home Based Business Opportunities

Women of today's generation are more dynamic and active even in the line of business. Before, women used to stay at home and do household chores but now women they are now stepping out and shifting gear towards to putting up a business or being an employee in a prestige company.
Aside from that, most women though staying at home are still able to do things that can give them opportunity. Home based businesses give them the chance to earn money while at home. So there are no excuses of doing chores while doing work since they are both at home.

I agree that women willing to take risks and also develop and apply their skills are finding success in business, both outside of the home and at home. The opportunities might be somewhat limited in some countries, but generally, our world has become an "equal opportunity" for all.

Honestly, in most cases today... stay at home moms or wives does not necessarily equate to unemployment or anything of that sort. You will be surprised to see how many women who are making it big working at home. Perhaps the convenience of working at home and the flexibility of the work schedule attracts many women at home to engage in online work rather than actual office based work. Furthermore you should see how many clients prefer women over men when it comes to online jobs at home. Most clients states that women are always on time for work and are commited to get the job done. There are also a lot of women entrepreneurs who are now opting to start a home based online business because of the benefit of getting to be with your family at home. I know some women who successfully balances their online business and their roles as wife and mother. It sure is fun to see them work their business like a bonding time for them. I know one that is running a RTW clothing line online... Her husband is a photographer so he takes pictures for their products while their children gladly poses for the camera as a part of their portfolio. Well I guess if you really want to work out a scenario there are a lot of ways.. but if you are not that determined to do so then you can just think of different excuses.

I believe that having a home-based business is a great opportunity for women who desire finanical independence, flexibility and freedom. A great way for women to test the waters is to start a business on the side while they are earning a full-time income. This will help them build a client-based, generate income and confidence to launch their business full-time.

As a work-at-home mom, I think it's a more difficult and a bit different than those who doesn't have other responsibilities. Though every business takes a lot of hard work, time, effort, and patience, I think for women it's double the hard work, double the time, double the effort & patience. The ability to juggle between household chores, taking care of kid/s, and managing a business (even how small it is) makes a women stand out!

I agree that to be a work-at-home-mom (WAHM), it can be challenging and demanding. A person really has to be focused and determined because you may only get a few minutes here and there to work on your business. The nice thing is that you CAN go at your own pace; if it takes longer to develop your business, no problem, as long as you have clear goals and have taken the time to create a clear, focused plan of action for your business.

I think that for a woman working from home can sometimes be more difficult than actually going out to a job. Working from home requires a great deal of multi tasking. It is essential as a work from home Mom to be disciplined because of the restraints on your time and people (the family in particular) need to be aware that barring emergencies, when you are working you are not to be disturbed. If you don't set some boundaries you will never get anything done. I still battle with the time management aspect of it all.

I'm so with you MichelleJ on the time-management part. It's the biggest challenge I'm dealing right now because every minute of my time really counts. Sometimes I feel like 24 hours is not enough.
