Success doesn't just come to one. One need to be eager to find it and work to achieve it. :D It won't come to you if you do not want it :!:

I think success is 2% luck and 98% persistence. While it's true that SOME people are successful due to luck, but the majority of the population has to work very hard to attain their goals. Opening a business require a ton of footwork. This means a lot of travel, a lot of networking, a lot of bank transactions -- just a lot of everything. If you're willing to put up with the monotonous aspects of business and you're willing to push forward, you're more than likely be successful. Also, make sure to cater to your audience/customer.

Hi, Yinka:

I just received the following business quotation in my email, from Brian Tracy International, and I thought of this topic thread:

"Success is not to be pursued; it is to be attracted by the person you become." – Jim Rohn, Author

If we do the things we need to do to become successful, success will find us.

I think it was Gary Player who said the harder I practice the luckier I become when it came to his success as a world class golfer. Planning and dedication to a task can make all the difference between success and failure.

Success means different things to different people. We each measure success in different ways.

For some, level of income is the measurement; for others, it is the thrill of achievement, of accomplishing something; for others, success is measured by volume, in other words, how many sales you make in a defined period of time.

Goals, targets and seeing how respected leaders achieve success all serve to inspire and motivate us. If we want to accelerate our progress, we need only to find leaders who are doing what we want to do, and then model their effort and activities.

I think other people see you as successful when in fact you don't yourself.

It's easy to get so immersed in what you are doing that you don't get time to celebrate your success.

That is why it is important to set specific goals, so you know you've reached them rather than aiming for something fluffy like "I want to be rich"

I agree. I think many times the "success" we see in others is just the tip of the iceberg: we see the "results" part of the iceberg, the tip of success, but the person them self feels the massive weight hanging below the surface that is actually supporting the tip, pushing it up into view.

I know that sometimes I have achieved something that looks good, but the weight of everything hanging below the surface actually diminishes the feeling of satisfaction I am able to feel. But the casual onlooker only sees the achievement and thinks, "Gee, I'd like to be successful like that guy." If they only knew what the cost had been.

I study success intently, and would like to share:

Here's two excellent and nearly identical success-formulas from a couple of the world's masters.

FIRST FORMULA:
1. Passionate Desire
2. Clear, Definite Purpose
3. Committed Decision
4. Take Action In Faith
(Bonus Secret Sauce: 5. Repeat Consistently)
I made a video about this, but am not allowed to link it yet. Google "Ryze Success Steps" for it.

Oh, and this is Napoleon Hill's (Master Of Success Laws)'s Formula.

SECOND FORMULA:
1. Passionate Desire
2. Understand It Is Already Done (Faith)
3. Relax & Allow It To Unfold (Go about your life calmly)

This one is courtesy of Abraham-Hicks (inspiration for the movie The Secret).

Hope that helps!

Great formulas, Jason. There is so much we can learn from leaders who have traveled the path before us, all we have to do is apply their proven practices.

I whole-heartedly agree.

What's really interesting, is that the formulas are very similar and also that Jerry + Esther Hicks are huge proponents of Napoleon's (who came before them) work.

LOL ... Yes, a person begins to think that all info originated from a single source and we simply modify it and pass it along to the next person.

Whatever the source, the principles stand and those who apply them benefit.
