Online Sales and Marketing vs Traditional

Postby ltrahan » Mon Jun 04, 2007 10:13 am

Hi Evan,

I am noticing that many of the posts in the Sales/Marketing section deal with online marketing, SEM and and SEO and Affiliates. I was wondering if it might be a good idea to separate that section into two; 1) Online Sales and Marketing; 2) Traditional Sales and Marketing

Create a section for online marketing?

Postby Evan » Tue Jun 05, 2007 9:10 am

I appreciate the feedback guys! The biggest challenge is making sure there is enough interest to create and keep it exciting and active.

So here's what I'm going to do:I've updated this post to include a poll. If we get 25 people to say yes and it's a majority over the other answers then the section will be created!

I agree with this, alternatively maybe we can have a separate category for tech related stuff like marketing, development, etc.

This is a great idea, I would suggest the following topics could now be discussed within the one forum:

- Search Engine Optimization

- How to make the most of Google Adwords or Adsense on your website

- Online Privacy & Legal Issues (e.g. do you really need a privacy policy or terms & conditions on your website?)

- E-Commerce and how to sell products online

- Best Practices for Online Promotions

- Designing your Corporate Identity

- Should you have a business blog?

- Social Networking & Communities (Hot topic at the moment)

This list includes a lot of traditional online services that some business people do not know much about and also some newer technologies or promotional techniques that a lot of business are yet to adopt or might be curious about, such as SecondLife (How to setup your own business in a popular virtual world) and YouTube (e.g. Offering a free tutorial with tips while softly promoting your business).

Chris,

Once you log on, you should be able to vote. When I first browsed this topic, all I could read was the total vote count, then when I logged back and came back to the thread, I was able to place my vote then.

Warmest Regards,
Takuya

Hi there,

It is good to go back on this one and cast your vote. This is especially for new people who have become part of the forum after this thread started.

I like to encourage you to cast your vote. (Of course, not the second time)

Kindest Regards

New forum

I think it's a wonderful concept and can help many people who are frustrated with obtaining this. Sharing knowledge in this feild can only help and having a sperate forum just for this will narrow down peoples research on this topic.
