Hey, Alan:

I clicked over to your website to see if you had your forum badge posted and I noticed your post highlighting the interview of you conducted by Bob Dhillon ... and I realized that today is the "other" Bob Dylan's 70th birthday. (Just an interesting coincidence.)

Ha ha! I thought I'd been very slow to add the badge to my website, but now I see I wasn't the slowest off the blocks!

@GT Funny you should mention Bob Dylan because I looked him up on Wikipedia today - never done that before! Actually, I did it because there was a programme on BBC World Service about him, and now you've just told me why! So maybe it wasn't such a big coincidence after all!

To tell you the truth, if people say "Dylan" the first thing that occurs to me is not Bob but the MAGIC ROUNDABOUT... And anyway, I always preferred The Kinks ...

Cheers!

LOL, cute video (and entertaining). I've never seen that.

I am a Kinks fan, too. I admire Dylan for his talent and I enjoy his style, but I'm not a true fan. The Beatles are at the top of my list (as a group and individually), with David Bowie coming in a close second.

Hi GT,

Actually, that Magic Roundabout episode really doesn't give you the true flavour...

Here is one of the originals, continuing in the "Dylan tradition" (note the use of hippytalk such as "man" breaking through the BBC rp... and the way "Dylan" loses it towards the end...):

This one is also a good laugh too:

As a kid, I used to watch this stuff on my grandfather's old black and white tv - when it had warmed up of course!

Dylan loses it ... can't we all relate at times? lol. And at the end the clay statue says, with a beatnik inflection in its voice, "It's, like, time for bed ... baby," and he snaps his fingers.

The second vid is cute, too. Poor Dougal and his magic carpet ride.

LOL... thanks for that, David.

I still haven't gotten around to it, but I plan to either today or tomorrow, along with a EC Forum blog post. Better late than never, right?
