Beautiful business

Postby ideasuniversity » Fri May 28, 2010 6:37 am

A beautiful business is a business that always puts smile on the faces of people. You must always give satisfactory results to suit both clients and your business. You could also help charity organisations through contributions, it could also get you cost effective organised prublicity. So now, you use a stone to catch lots of birds.

I agree. If you do not give satisfactory results to your client you never see any results of your own. The two are completely mutually inclusive in the long-term.

I completely agree with you, Ideas. Once you've established yourself as a successful business, it's only fair that you give back to the community. By donating money to local charities and needy organizations, you can rest well in knowing you helped people while drawing attention to your business by other donors. Another cool thing about donating is money is that it's often times taken out of your final tax total when you have to pay taxes in April. This isn't always the case, but certain deductions can be made.

Hi,

I think you are spot on there, if your business is doing well then supporting local charities apart from promoting your business can also give you a tremendous feel good factor that you are giving something back,

regards,

Mal.

Of course we all know there are a lot of "ugly" businesses out there, especially on the Internet, that are raking in the cash (short term?) by ripping off newbies and selling them false promises.

On the other hand, beautiful businesses certainly do exist online... The trick is to tell the difference!

 Perhaps we could help people do that by nominating some "beautiful businesses"... Or perhaps the EC forum should run a "Beautiful Online Business of the Year" award... and also an "Ugly" version too...

Hi David,

I think that is a great idea, not sure about the legal side of a name and shame effort but promoting the beautiful business would be a great boost for newbie’s or in fact anyone who is looking for an honest and ethical opportunity on the Internet, what harm could it do,

regards,

Mal.

As Mal just said, "Great idea" David!

I have reservations about publicly pointing out "Ugly Businesses" since we want the EC forums to be perceived as a Friendly Entrepreneur Community.

Rather than pointing out the ugliness, perhaps we could spin it differently. For example, in our Toastmasters public speaking club, when we give feedback to fellow members after they have presented a speech project, we highlight their strengths, and we suggest an area they could work on improving. We don't just say what needs improving; we recommend ways to do it.

David, if you would like to elaborate on how to organize a "Beautiful Online Business of the Year" award program, I'm all for hearing your ideas!

I agree. The customer service and satisfaction are so important when running a successful business. People know that there is usually somewhere else they can go it they are not treated respectfully and the businesses that don't figure this out from the get go, are the ones that aren't there for long. Being a part of a business that treats their customers fairly and respectfully, makes you feel better about going to work, too. You feel like you've given something back to your community when you work with them positively.
