I Feel Really Great Today Because...

I feel really great today because it's Friday and I finished work at 10:30am!

Until this term, term-time Fridays were very busy indeed. I used to teach four classes, with the third class being off campus, so it was a long and tiring day, but good mula.

This term, however, I have a lighter schedule and just one class on Fridays! I feel great about that because it means I can either come home and work on my online business, or go to the library and work on a paper about Othello that I'd like to complete before the end of the year (even though I haven't started it yet...).

I'm not worried about the loss of income because I'm becoming more confident that I can earn it back and more via the Internet...

It's great that this short day happened on a Friday. As you've noted, it gives you some options to get other things done. And it's just a great feeling to have your "work week" finished early.

Another thing which you must feel great about is the knowledge that you don't rely 100% on your teaching salary which must be a great feeling, more power to you on that,

Didn't have a video camera on me at the time! (I suppose someone out there has tried to video himself doing backflips - while holding the camera, I mean.)

Actually, I enjoy being on that particular campus so it was a happy-but-not-really-backflip-happy moment when I left...
