Wow, that's a huge report (8 megs, 33 pages)

At least 2 out of 3 participants found that increased traffic occurred with as little as
6 hours per week invested in social media marketing.

53.1% of people who've only invested a few months with
social media marketing report new partnerships were gained.

At least 67% of marketers plan on increasing their use of blogs, Facebook,
video/YouTube, Twitter and LinkedIn

We asked marketers which social media tools they most want to learn more about.
Social bookmarking sites slightly edged out Twitter for the number-one slot. Facebook
came in third, followed closely by Digg/Reddit/Mixx/StumbleUpon and then LinkedIn.

Some very good stuff in there!

Thanks Terriz!

Thanks for pulling out these quotes! Really brings home how important it is for business owners to get into social media -- and be smart about how they do it

Hi Terri,

Interesting report.

The stats are intriguing. Social media has come a long way, and it's almost essential these days to help build your brand.

I would say Facebook and Twitter are my top two. MMO Social Network is starting to pique my curiosity, and it seems I can get some nice exposure to blog posts. It's important to find sites that work for you personally and then build up a profile on those sites.

I believe it's here to stay and should be a regular part of our marketing efforts.

I totally agree -- it's essential, and you need to figure out which network(s) work for you and focus on them.

I'm curious...what is MMO Social Network? I did a quickie google search but only came up with Massive Multiplayer Online games...

LOL... MMO (Make Money Online) Social Network... http://www.mmosocialnetwork.com. It's a social bookmarking site where you can submit your blog posts or other people's posts, and members can vote on the posts and comment. Pretty standard of a bookmarking site. Difference is this site is geared towards the "Make Money Online" niche.

I haven't heard about it until just recently as I was introduced by an online friend who had been using it.

Just want to ask two things:

1. the graphs are amazing. Nice presented. Which software tools used to depict the graphs? Any thoughts.

2. Alan - do you have any data on how much money you earned on MMO. Do you think it will work?

Alan - thanks for sharing. Let me explore.

Thanks,
Robert

Sorry, Robert -- I don't know. I didn't write the report so I don't know what he used to do the graphs. :(

Hi Robert,

Directly I haven't made any money from MMO Social Network. What does happen, though, is that I get first-time readers to my blog who actually read the posts, and some comment on the post itself. The posts I've submitted also get voted on which helps with visibility.

Overtime, and depending on the nature of your posts, I don't see why you couldn't make money with it. The key is to provide useful content that people can use and will make them want to share it with others. If you can get first-time readers to come back again and again, then to me that's more important than making money. You can build a relationship with them, and in the long-run, that will lead to a nice income.

This is true with any social site.

Absolutely right Alan.

Regarding MMO, SMO will make relationships, which in turn results in long-term business and money. I do admit this.

Reg. graphics, just curious to know.

Thanks,
Robert
