Come on folks... it's time to add your vote. It's at the top of this topic thread...

Hi Russell,

I have no problem with extending the poll voting, but I'm not sure how :? When I tried editing the first post, I didn't see an option for it. Let me ask Evan and get back to you.

Just as an update, Evan has extended the poll's expiration date and says he'd like to see at least 25 "yes" votes before implementing the new category. Moreover, it would probably be called "Online Marketing" instead of Social Media Marketing".

Thanks, Evan and Kevin!

Two more weeks. I hope any forum members who have not yet voted see this and cast their ballot. If not enough members vote in favour, then obviously the interest isn't strong enough.

On the other hand, if the interest is there, but interested members fail to vote ... it would be a shame to miss out on the opportunity.

Okay - I have a request -- can the title be changed to "Online Marketing"?

The reason I'm asking is because people may not know what social media marketing is , while that would make me vote for it to learn more, but not every thinks like that. Also, online marketing could capture more attention when people spot in on the list.

Hi, Shri:

I see what you mean! I agree. The title in this topic thread is "Should Evan add a "Social Media Marketing" category ..." and this definitely going to be misleading for some potential thread visitors!

In that light, the poll may not properly represent the interest and therefore may not be a truly fair poll.

I second the motion: Can we change the thread and poll title to "Online Marketing"?

Hi,

I agree that the forum category could be called "Online Marketing." When it gets busy you can break it down into categories. I have broken down our classroom section on our site to the following categories (just added this section so bare with me):

http://www.webbizideas.com/internet-marketing/

I think two good sub-categories for Evan would be Socail Media Marketing, Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Everyone always has questions on SEO and as more people figure out what Social Media Marketing is the will also have more questions.

Hi,

Online Marketing would be a great title, and having sub categories would make it even better, there would plenty of categories to choose from, Social Media, SEO, Article Marketing and yes even Affiliate Marketing to name just a few,

great looking site btw Jeff,

take care,

Carol

Glad to see you understood what I said - I think the meaning got lost after that :) Let's hope it can be changed - it seems that using a header people are familiar with could help generate the votes.
