That's good news! Are you going to set up a website or a blog? If so, keep us posted. If you need any help doing that or getting publicity for your site if you do set one up, let me know. I'd be happy to help, gratis.

A blog is a good fast option. Blogger.com is very fast and easy to set up and you can add a Paypal Donation button in the side panel (or on every post!). Blogger now has an easy-to-install widget system and you can load your paypal button code onto an html widget and Bob's your uncle!

As soon as it is live, let us have the link on this forum so we can help with the publicity! :D

Again, if you have any problems with setting up a Paypal on Blogger, post here, or send me a private message, or even contact me via the form on my website and I'll give you a hand.

Good luck!

How To Add A Paypal Button To Blogger

Postby David Hurley » Fri Aug 29, 2008 10:29 pm

Hi Brendan,

The blog is looking good. If possible, try to post something on it every day. You can vary the length of the posts, just something short when time is tight.

There are two parts to getting the Paypal code on your site. First is getting the Paypal code! Second is getting it on your site!

HOW TO GET YOUR PAYPAL CODE

1. Log in to Paypal
2. Click Merchant Services
3. Find the Key Features box on the right and click Donations.
4. Donations Page 1: Fill in the fields with your Donation name and a ref no. (the latter is not necessary). Choose a "Donate" button - I suggest the one with the pic of the credit cards beneath. It is up to you whether you "encrypt" or not. As you do not have a website there is no need to go to "Donations Page 2" for "more options", so you can just click "Create Button Now".
5. On the new page, click "Select All" for the "HTML Code for Websites" box and copy and paste the code to your blog.

HOW TO GET YOUR PAYPAL DONATION BUTTON ON BLOGGER

1. Go to your Blogger.com dashboard.
2. Click the "Layout" tab.
3. Click "Add A Gadget"
4. Scroll down to HTML/JavaScript and click the + sign.
5. A small screen will pop up and you can PASTE your Paypal Donation Button code there and add a title if you wish.
6. Click SAVE on the small screen.
7. Now, back on the main screen you can preview and then SAVE.

If all has gone well, you should now have a Paypal Donation button on your blog.

===

Best wishes,

Hi Brendan,

I just tested the button - it works!! :D

Now, on to the publicity side! Here are a couple of things you can do. I, or other forum members, will add more stuff in upcoming posts.

1. USE KEYWORD PHRASES IN YOUR BLOG POSTS
Include a couple of keywords/keyword phrases in your blog posts each time to attract readers with an interest in boxing/martial arts who might like what they see and donate!

Go to http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com/ and type "boxing" (for example) into the field and you will get a long list of boxing related phrases. The number to the left shows the number of people searching for those keyword phrases on Google per month (I think). In order to place yourself in their way you need some of those phrases to crop up "naturally" in your blog posts. Select those that are suitable for your blog articles and write them into your blog posts. Maybe one or two keywords per post, and just 1-3 times. Don't over-do it.

Choose some lower number phrases as well as some higher ones - your blog will stand more chance of higher ranking on the lower numbers.

2. MAKE A SQUIDOO LENS
Go to http://www.squidoo.com and make a lens about your invention. Actually, the more lenses you make the better, about various aspects of boxing, boxing practice, martial arts, and so on.

A good way to do it is to find a good keyword (step 1 above) and make ONE LENS PER KEYWORD PHRASE.

For example, the keyword "free boxing tips" attracts 284 searches according to http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com, so you could make a lens called Free Boxing Tips. Write about free boxing tips and add your blog URL in several places on the lens.

Squidoo is great! And easy to set up.

Best wishes,

David H

Hi Brendan,

Just saw this e-communication of yours.

One of the things earlier suggested to you was market research and developing a business plan by the Jude (TheRainmaker).

In this case you can get much help from the business schools within the UK. Most business schools in the UK don't have strong ties with the industry and there are some good brains around. You can surely utilize that at a very low cost.

Secondly, business school students can carry out market research for you at a fraction of cost so harness their energy and brains too.

Best wishes,
Paurav

Hi Brendan,

How's it going?

I've started linking your blog to my stuff. There is a link on one of my blogs. I'll add more links elsewhere and do a feature or two and also write an article and distribute it with a link back to your blog.

Something else you can do...

Add a signature file to your forum profile with a link back to your blog. If you are on any other forums, add a similar link in your signature file on those too. Best thing would be to choose a good keyword phrase and link that.

You can also rewrite your longer blog posts and submit them to article directories. The best one is ezinearticles.com.

One more thing. You might attract donors by offering to add a link back to their website on your blog. Maybe set up a Donations table with donors listed under the amounts they have donated, or list everybody who donated $1 or something.

thanks paurav and david, paurev you are well into the consumer society, I find Its a real test of the human spirit. You have strength
I felt myself that best strategy was to teach the world a very simple unknown concept (multi-target training) rather than try to learn the worlds complicated business systems. not so sure now though, alot of people are great on complicated priciples and stuck on this simple one,
david I tried your keyword sites, I went a bit overboard on one post with them and found I was developing a whole new personality trying to include loads of keywords in my posts, there must be a new psycological disorder arising from overuse  .
i am opiniated enough in posting but add the keyword syndrome as well, and well, quite a mix!
I do honestly believe at this stage that publicity and acceptance of my invention is best step right now. I was going to go on a around the world crusade to all the patent treaty cooperation offices
where i had filing rights, dressed in native american clothing while immersed in the culture, collecting a band along the way,a lot of people are only looking for an excuse, adventure!! around the world journey for a reason, nobody has ever done it before, but i did not want to leave my partner, otherwise it would have been great.
I am still working away slowly on all your great tips, much thanks
The adventure continues
cheers

Hi everyone
I am a member of the east london inventors club and they are putting my invention in some exhibition on saturday here in barking in london, one never knows,They might get the tv people in?
blogs going o.k
I am not worried i just keeping working at it, and if the foreign effort fails, or even all fails. it does not matter, I (believe) know i am right on this one and the rest of the planet (bar some) are wrong, and that never happened to me before.
Cheers
