What are your January Goals?

Postby Evan » Wed Dec 28, 2011 10:17 am

Hello everyone! In another thread we discussed the idea of setting up a new Accountability section to let you post your goals for the month and be held accountable for actually following through on what you say you're going to do.

So here we are! I'm going to suggest a format that I've used in my Mastermind Groups for the past 5 years that has been highly effective for my members.

If you're interested in participating please post your top 3 goals for January 2012 and 3 action items that you're going to take under each step.

It should look like this:

Goal #1: Goal Name
- Breakdown Step 1
- Breakdown Step 2
- Breakdown Step 3

Goal #2: Goal Name
- Breakdown Step 1
- Breakdown Step 2
- Breakdown Step 3

Goal #3: PERSONAL GOAL
- Breakdown Step 1
- Breakdown Step 2
- Breakdown Step 3

Hi, Evan:

I guess it's crunch time! Holidays (and excuses) are over. Time to get back to work.

I think my future month goals will be different, but for January, here we go:

Goal #1: Offline Client Newsletter (Deadline is Jan. 28)
- Draft outline of proposed and potential articles/items
- Confer and confirm the lineup with respective contact
- Write, prepare and finalize all material by the Jan. 28 deadline

Goal #2: Increased and More Consistent Blog Posting
- Target: Minimum 3 posts per week on Affiliate Power Central
- Simplify some of the posts to reduce the research/writing time
- Be more personal, less technical or structured, in some of the posts

Goal #3: Write 10 New Articles for Article Directories
- Aim for 2-3 per week
- Write at least one per week for multiple directories, each modified slightly
- Write at least one per week, the topic relating to and pointing back to a specific blog post

My main goal for January... Get at least 3 new paying clients for my marketing/SEO business!

Edit: Oops I guess I should have read more closely before replying. I didn't see the format requirement. No time now but I will update when I get a chance.

Okay, I've been thinking about this for a few days, so I'd better declare my aims. Each one is something I have been meaning to do for a while...

1. Publish a video about my SFI affiliate team
- Make the video (basic talking-head format)
- Upload to YouTube
- Publish on grasp-the-nettle.com

2. Launch my Traffic Exchange training ebook
- Complete ebook
- Write a follow-up email series (10 emails)
- Promote on 10 x TEs & grasp-the-nettle.com

3. Launch japanese-brushes.com
- Design and publish website
- Add unique content (3 articles about Japanese brushes)
- Post items for sale with Paypal buttons & link to Japanese-games-shop.com

Hi Guys,

I think this Accountability section is working!

1. Publish a video about my SFI affiliate team
- Make the video (basic talking-head format) ** DONE IT! **
- Upload to YouTube ** DONE IT! **
- Publish on grasp-the-nettle.com ** DONE IT! **

It's far from perfect... natural lighting, hi tech visuals... a couple of cuts to get rid of waffle and keep the video down to less than four minutes. It took me several takes and time out to recharge the battery (!) before I got it done, then some time to edit out the junk and set up a new YouTube account.

Here's the video on my website:

http://www.grasp-the-nettle.com/video/v ... eir-teams/

3. Launch japanese-brushes.com
- Design and publish website ** DONE IT **

No content added yet... I'll get on with that over the next few days.

Anyway, that's 4 out of 9 steps completed so far, and all done today, in spite of enjoying a nice lie in this morning!

If you want some help I can have my guy create a quick intro for you like I have on my videos that you can then include at the start of each video.

Evan wrote:Great to hear David! GT, how are you doing?

Hi, Evan:

It's starting out slow, but I've got the list printed and posted by my desk, so I am determined to get on track through the month.

Goal #1: Client project - Discovered the deadline is about a week sooner than expected! Have drafted list of article ideas and have been corresponding with liaison. A couple of items determined, others yet to be determined. Must start lining up interviews.

Goal #2: Blog Posting - One posted; another nearly done and will finish and post it tonight.

Goal #3: Oh, my! Not started yet! Looking at that goal after this busy week, it frightens me! But it is on the list and I will see what I can do.

Good to hear that you are getting some of your goals done. Too bad about that pulled muscle! More exercise is on my list for this year, too, and I've made a good start of it this week.
