Two Useful Books To Help You Focus On The CLIENT

Postby David Hurley » Wed Jul 02, 2008 11:33 am

I just read two good books which both stress customer focus:

Seth Godin - Permission Marketing, Turning Strangers Into Friends, And Friends Into Customers

and

Maister, Green & Galford - The Trusted Advisor

Seth Godin went on to set up Squidoo! Permission Marketing was published about ten years ago and was about ten years ahead of its time. If you're interested in opt-in list-building techniques, read Permission Marketing.

The Trusted Advisor is an excellent book to read after Permission Marketing. It offers a thorough analysis of the various techniques that you can develop to build trusting relationships with your clients.

Hi David,

To add to your thread, I'd like to recommend Jonathan Tisch's "Chocolates On The Pillow Aren't Enough: Reinventing The Customer Experience".

Tisch's book includes content on "Welcoming Customers", "The New Art of Customization", "The Challenges of Customer Diversity" and "Offering Something Extra to Your Customers" to name a few.

Seth Godin is my man anyday. I became his reader when I read IdeaVirus by him. Is he the owner of Squidoo?
