Happy New Year to you and your beautiful family, Evan!

(Looking at your photo, one of our grandsons could easily be a cousin to your boy.)

Which flag is that?

Thanks GT!

It's a Grenada flag. My son has an obsession with flags at the moment. We picked one up from each place we visited on our vacation.

Flags are cool to collect!

I suggested to my wife that we get and post a photo of the two of us, but she said "No" before I finished the sentence, lol.

However . . . she is building a website from scratch, for the experience ... and tonight I was helping her figure out how and where to load photos and graphics so they will be live on the site ... so ... here we are, together, using the pic she posted to represent herself (honest!):

Happy New Year everybody!

I'm excited about 2012 because I'm going to be much more focussed on my business...

I must be one of the few freelance university teachers to have jumped for joy at the news that my second biggest contract is coming to an end in February. :D Also, my biggest contract will contract in the second half of the year. :D :D

I've promised myself NOT to look for new university teaching posts. I don't want to give up teaching altogether because I enjoy doing it and I also think it is healthy for me to get out and meet local people AS WELL AS hanging out at home working on my online biz.

Last month I popped into the local tax office to find out more about what I can and cannot do as a small business in Japan. I was expecting a lot of rules and regulations, but the tax officer basically told me I could do what I liked as long as I completed the "blue" tax form for businesses. Yippee!

So, I'm excited about having the opportunity to expand my business in 2012...

Best wishes,

David
