New Accountability section?

Postby Evan » Fri Dec 09, 2011 12:39 pm

Hello forum members!

GT and I have been discussing ideas for the forums and one that came up that I think has some merit is a section on accountability.

As entrepreneurs it can be tough to be held accountable because we're our own bosses. When you have goals that you let others know about you're also more likely to do the work and get them done.

I've seen it work through my monthly in-person Mastermind Group meetings that I put on in Toronto and I'm wondering if it could work remotely through our forums community.

The basic concept would be to encourage people to post their goals for the month at the beginning of the month and then check in mid month and at the end of the month to update on progress that's been made.

As a community we try to help provide ideas and encourage each other to accomplish what we set out to do.

What do you think? Any ideas are welcome :)

Sounds like a great idea Evan. If nothing else it will make people really think about what they want to accomplish each month and then set goals to work towards achieving their aims.

I'd really appreciate something like that. I'd prefer quarterly goals rather than monthly ones, though.

Great idea, Evan!
Monthly accountability is better for me.

Let's do it!

How about, in addition to posting our goals, we also include a couple of the action steps necessary, or that we intend to take, to achieve those goals?

Glad everyone is on board!

GT, that's another great idea. For my groups we usually list 2-3 business goals, 1 personal goal and then 3 action steps under each goal.

So it will look like this:

Goal #1: Goal Name
- Breakdown Step 1
- Breakdown Step 2
- Breakdown Step 3

Goal #2: Goal Name
- Breakdown Step 1
- Breakdown Step 2
- Breakdown Step 3

Goal #3: PERSONAL GOAL
- Breakdown Step 1
- Breakdown Step 2
- Breakdown Step 3

Hi, Trent. Try it again to see what happens. I was just there about the same time as you, so maybe we confused the server?
