Online Article Marketing

How do you think you can help other members in the forums?

I would hope to be able to direct people to the resources they need to do the job they want to do, or to help them think about the skills they need.

Above all I'd like to convey to people the idea that online article marketing should be both fun and a personal service full of potential for creative expression!

What do you like most about the EvanCarmichael.com Forums?

The first thing that struck me about the EvanCarmichael.com forum was the quality of the responses to posts. I quickly understood that I was in good company on Evan Carmichael's forum.

The next thing I liked was the way in which people are given incentives to participate through the competitions and the chance to have their link appear on the homepage. Suddenly, a complete beginner could get a place on the front page of a site that is in the top 40,000 on the Internet.

What does your business do?

My business, Grasp-The-Nettle.com is about online article marketing and helping people to make the big first move towards setting up a home business on the Internet without making all the costly mistakes that I made and then taking them all the way through to Internet mastery.

Grasp-The-Nettle.com offers a neat plug-in solution that can get you up and running with a fully loaded website in 48 hours, even if you don't know anything about html and techie stuff like that.

Grasp-The-Nettle.com also offers success mentoring to my clients, actually to pretty much anybody who gets in touch! Just having a website set up is not enough. I show clients what to do next, and next, and next... step by step until they "master the net!"

Once someone is willing to "grasp the nettle" I am more than happy to help them "master the net". That is why the slogan for my site is: "Grasp the nettle! Master the net!"

Why did you want to become an entrepreneur?

That is a huge question! I do not come from a business background, but as a teenager I learnt a lot about the independence that business can bring when I worked as a "fishmonger's mate".

My boss trusted me enough to leave the business to me when he went away on holiday. This was when I was 17 or 18. He'd hire a bloke to drive and help out, and I'd be responsible for everything else, from buying the fish to setting prices, delivering special orders, and of course cutting, filleting, skinning, heading, tailing and gutting loads of fish and flogging it!

The sense of freedom that the self-employed have was something that never left me, even though for the last twenty years I've worked as an English language teacher for various private schools in Britain, Italy, Germany and Japan.

Once I had a family I returned to the idea of becoming an entrepreneur in order to achieve personal and financial freedom for myself and my family.

The difference is that today, unlike when I was a teenager, I'd rather stay at home and make money through online article marketing than go out in all weathers buying and selling fish!

Who is your favourite entrepreneur?

Seth Godin

What is your favourite business book?

What is your definition of success?

Success does not happen by accident. Success is about having a clear vision of where you want to go, one that works for you and your family, and not giving up when things go wrong.

Success is a journey of discovery. The good news is that the art of discovery grows with discovery, so you can discover how to achieve great success with each little step that you successfully take.
